From an early age I was painting, drawing and making.

These things start out as enjoyable pursuits. Later on in life it becomes a challenge ,a compulsion.

After secondary school (in which there was no art taught) I went to the National College of Art and Design. It opened up a whole new world of various artistic disciplines. My lasting memories of this time was my contact with people of great artistic and creative talents , mostly of those gifted individuals seemingly incapable of making a bad mark.

I was fortunate to sustain a living as a potter since leaving college. Like most aspiring artists ,work and family take precedence over ideas of painting. In June of 2008 I made a decision to become a better painter.

I am a better painter now but my aim to become a better is unending.  On arriving  home from taking First Place in 'Paint Annapolis' plein air event I was  asked if I see art as a competition!  We compete firstly with others but ultimately with ourselves.

I always want the next painting to be better than the last.

These days I divide my working time between life as a painter and life as a potter.
